Why this painter spent 45 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit

I went to Detroit, MI to meet Richard Phillips, who was exonerated after spending almost 5 decades in prison. To help the time go by, he would paint everyday in his cell. Now that he got his freedom back, he had no choice but to sell his paintings in order to make a living out in the real world.
